New WIP blues

February 15, 2006

Its never a good sign when a new story has a problem right at the beginning, made worse by the fact that you can’t see exactly what the problem is, just that’s its there. You could press on and hope whatever the unidentifiable problem is, will work itself out, but if you go that route the little mystery issue could end up making a very big hole in the story.

Or you could scrap what you’ve got so far and start again, which seriously makes me cringe at the thought, or you could… is there a third option? I really don’t like the first two. Damn I hate this feeling, and I’m sure its too early in the story for anyone other than me to figure out what the hang up is. When all else fails its back to the plot and my notes I guess.

Have I mentioned I hate this feeling?
